As in most online poker games, the goal of Texas holdem is to form the best five-card poker hand. Do this by using any combination of all visible common cards on the table and the two cards you have in your hand.You can choose to use, two cards from your hand and the three from the table, or 1 from your hand and four cards from the table, or all five on the table. Whether you are playing Texas poker online or in a live game, the procedure is as follows:
Texas Holdem Pre Flop
The game begins with the player to the left of the dealer button posts a predetermined amount, the small blind, and the player one more to the left is investing, the big blind, which tends to be about twice as large as the small blind. The blinds are forced bets, making something to fight about in the pot.
Then, each player receives two cards face down, these are called, pocket cards. The cards are dealt clockwise one by one. After all players have received the 2 poker cards, the poker player who sits to the left of the big blind will have to act first.
This is where the choice is either: fold, call or raise. Then each player, in turn, have the same choice. After all players have been acting, the poker dealer puts three cards face up on the table, those 3 comon cards is called: the flop.
Texas Holdem Flop Strategy
These cards on the table is common, both you and your opponents will use them to form the best poker hand. A new betting round starts with the first of remaining players in the pot, to the left of the dealer starts to act. After all players have made their decisions a fourth community card will come up on the table, the turn.
Texas Holdem Turn Strategy
Once again, so is the process the same with the difference that there are now four cards to build a poker hand from. And again, when everyone has acted, the poker dealer adds a fifth and final community card up on the table, the river.
Texas Holdem River Strategy
Now begins the final round of betting, and when everyone has acted the hole cards are turned face up. It is the player who bet first, or raised last, that begins to show. If no one has invested money the last round, the first player to the left of the dealer will be forced to show his poker hand first. The best five card poker hand wins the pot.
New Deal
When the pot is completed, a new deal starts, with the difference that the player who had the small blind is now the button, and the one who was the big blind , now is the small blind. eg. you move both blinds a step to the left of each new hand so that all players must bring both blinds once per lap.
It is the same rules for both live poker and online tournament poker.
